VILLA SUEÑO
Here at McLundie architects the team was both proud and delighted to have had the honour of receiving an award this year for the best residential property in Spain.
This villa has been conceived to maximise the potential what was a complicated plot that many people would have overlooked due to its steep slopes.
We designed a villa so that it almost reaches out over the gorge which lies below the property and gives you a sense that you are flying across towards the sea with you see in the far distance.
It is a modern style villa but with touches of the Andalusian style.
On the ground floor, there are large “Open Plan” spaces, which lead you out to extensive terraces with a swimming pool and a fire pit. There are also three bedrooms with large private terraces.
The living room itself has a double height space with clerestory windows, which brings in abundant light but still maintains a comfortable and homely scale to the room.
On the lower level, there is a large garage and a generous leisure area, which opens out onto the covered terrace and then gives access down onto the lower areas of the plot. Potential for a separate apartment also exists on this level.
Two further bedrooms with large terraces and the master suite occupy the upper floor. An elegant stair and the lift connects all the levels and continues up onto an extensive roof terrace, which provides incredible long distance views over the Sotogrande estate and to the sea beyond.
