The practice was commissioned to undertake a complete refurbishment of the existing golf club premises. Working closely with the club design committee, phases 1 & 2 of the refurbishment works have now been completed and members are enjoying the new facilities provided. Those who knew the club previously no doubt will have noted the refreshing and contemporary look of the club today.

Estas últimas obras consisten en un extenso paisajismo duro y blando en la zona de entrada y la construcción de un nuevo edificio de Pro-Shop con un diseño innovador. Las vigas de madera laminada curvadas expuestas para la construcción del techo, rematadas con un revestimiento de cobre, sin duda darán como resultado una característica única e impresionante cuando los miembros e invitados entren en la casa club y el campo de golf.

FORMENTERA

The villa is situated on an exceptional plot on Calle Formentera, which is a privileged cul de sac on Sotogrande Alto, with magnificent views across the Almenara Golf Course to the South.

The client wished to build a comfortable family home which would maximise the potential views to golf and sea.

CERVANTES

Situated in a mature area in Sotogrande alto, Villa Cervantes is a three story modernist villa with extensive entertaining leisure areas and tennis court, intended to stand out from the crowd. The Villa is essentially very private from the street, but the rear façade being south facing captures the early morning to late evening sun all year round.

Entering through the tall arched entryway. You find yourself in a spacious entrance hall with a dramatic three story atrium staircase with grand views out to the gardens and pool.

The spectacular stair gives access to bedrooms and garage on the entry level; down to living, kitchen and utility room, large dining and living room and entertaining areas, further guest bedroom, study and Games room; and to the upper level and the Master suite and roof terrace.

All of the spaces at garden level have large, South facing, sliding glass doors opening out onto generous terrace areas and swimming pool with a large well-proportioned poolhouse to the western side with easy access from the kitchen.

The extensively landscape gardens are on two levels ,providing space for a tennis court at the bottom of the garden.

The southern façade is almost entirely glazed, allowing light to flood into the whole house, providing a smooth transition from interior to exterior spaces.

This is a wonderful family home, set in a mature residential area which, although contrasting with the properties around, is deliberately seeking to stand out on its own merits of architectural design.

With this in mind, we designed the ground floor to be as high as the planning regulations would permit, with substantial basement areas including garaging, games room, gym and three guest bedrooms all having access out to the garden.

Open plan living, kitchen, dining and family areas flow together seamlessly onto the generous terraces and shaded areas wrapping around the large infinity pool, which adds to the impression of sailing over the golf course below.

SOTOGRANDE, SOUTHERN SPAIN

This villa, situated in the Kings and Queens area of Sotogrande Bajo was a traditional Andalusian villa (some 50 years old!) made up of essentially one floor with a single master bedroom on the upper floor. The brief from the new owners was to create a contemporary villa, with open plan spaces and lots of light to take advantage of its Southern aspect, but at the same time to retain some of the influences of the Andalusian architecture which is embodied in its original form.

The project involved a major remodelling of the existing property, adding several en-suite bedrooms to the upper floor and extending the master suite to create a more spacious and illuminous bedroom.

The pool area was completely redeveloped creating a generous barbecue and entertaining area at one end of the pool, with a mirror image, shaded seating area at the opposite end.

Landscaping was completely redesigned, including the new driveway and entrance area. The existing garages were demolished and a new larger double garage was built at the rear of the property at the far end of the plot.

Whereas the conventional wisdom would have been to demolish the existing property in its entirety, we felt there was much value to be salvaged from the existing structure and foundations which had been solidly built in their day.

An open galleried, two story entrance hall provides a dramatic entrance to the house and provides views directly through the living room to the pool area and the landscaped garden beyond.

Generous living and dining areas open out onto a large terraced area leading onto the pool.

The new owners enjoy entertaining, so it was imperative that the indoor and outdoor spaces blended seamlessly together, and there was free flow between the living, dining, kitchen and family areas.

The end result is a property that has been lovingly restored and modernised, and has become a much loved family home for the new owners and their children and grandchildren.

Sotogrande, Southern Spain

In a move away from the current fashions of architecture and residential architecture, we have created a villa which draws on the history of Andalusia.

With a strong Moroccan theme, this villa is set on a high plot within the Kings and Queens area of Sotogrande and offers a scale and grandeur not often seen in current homes.

We have located the villa on the highest point of the site to maximise views and, in the interior, we have created important vistas from the domed, double height entrance hall, through to the dramatic spiral staircase and double height living room and to the external terraces and garden areas.

The basement houses a sizeable garage, flexible leisure space, machine room and staff accommodation.

The ground floor contains kitchen, living and dining spaces and a guest bedroom, with extensive covered terraces.

The first floor houses the other en-suite bedrooms and master suite, all with terrace areas.

There is also a lift which links the basement through to the roof terrace level.

Adjacent to the main villa and the pool, there is a covered sitting and dining area with a further two guest bedrooms above and machine room and storage at basement level.

An important aspect of the design is the use of water in the landscaped gardens and at roof level.
